19th century non-combustible cast-iron travel strongbox by Bauche-Fichet, France

Antique travel safe in non-combustible cast iron from northeastern France (Gueux, Marne).

It is decorated with big nail reinforcements around the edges, and two handsome handles on either side make it easy to lift.

The door features a crowned medallion with a cross and the brand name and serial number inscribed around it.

At the top of the trunk, the inscription INCOMBUSTIBLE SYSTEME BAUCHE, BREVETE S.G.D.G USINE A GUEUX MARNE appears in a rocaille cartouche.

Inside, it still has its original felt, opens through a door and the lock is in good condition with its original key.

This very vintage safe is perfect for storing valuables at home, but can also be used as a pedestal or decorative accessory.
