We present you this exquisite grisaille painting representing a moonlit harbour scene in the style favoured by the French artist Charles-François Lacroix de Marseille (1700-1783). He was an artist known for creating landscape and marine paintings in a manner influenced by the styles of Claude Joseph Vernet, Jean-Joseph Kapeller (1702-1790), and Henry d’Arles. The original frame shows some minor signs of wear. This artwork dates back to the late 18th to early 19th century and measures 64×54 cm, including the frame.

This painting can be accompanied by another artwork depicting a similarly peaceful setting, which is available in our inventory. These pieces can be purchased either as a set or individually.
